In February 2017, SaskPower issued Bulletin 01-2017 amending the B149.2-15 code to address clearance requirements for emergency shutdown systems on tank systems connected to direct-fired vapourizers. The amendments to the requirements ensure compliance in limited installations, such as at construction sites.
This Gas Safety Variance addresses the limited space for proper installation and servicing of tanks, vapourizers and emergency shutdown systems at construction sites. The variance specifically address the distance between direct-fired vapourizers and emergency shutdown system.
This Bulletin (FS15-01) clarifies the requirements for direct-fired vapourizers to be equipped with traps, filters or other means to trap heavy ends.
